Automation rules are the glue that hold your entire workflow together. Trigger an action when a product is purchased, a course is completed, or when someone subscribes to a new form.
We find that everyone wants marketing automation features, but once they have them it’s hard to know where to start. So for ConvertKit we’ve included handy blueprints to show you example automation workflows.
Click the icons below to preview a few of the possible automation workflows you can create in ConvertKit.
Once subscribers join your list they can receive an email course to introduce them to your best work. This could be a couple days long or last for over a month.
Once they receive the last email in that course the “Completes a course” automation rule can trigger. You can use this to add them to a new form or course.
You can then create a segment that only has subscribers from your new form or course. So it will only be people who have received the entire onboarding series. Then send all your broadcasts to this group.
On your sales page you should give away sample content (like a free video or chapter) in trade for an email address.
Then over the next week send them reminder emails to come back and buy the product.
Connect ConvertKit to your payment processor and you’ll be notified of anyone who makes a purchase.
Then use ConvertKit’s exclude feature to make sure that anyone who buys won’t get more emails in the pitch sequence.
In an automated pitch all the content is timed to the subscriber. Meaning that if I sign up today and you sign up tomorrow, we’ll be receiving emails on different days. This is nice because you are always pitching your product rather than waiting for launches.
You can write your entire launch sequence in advance, choose a group of subscribers, and then hit play.
Just sit back and watch the emails go out and the sales roll in. This is so much less stressful than trying to manage a launch every day.
Because all the subscribers are receiving the emails at the same time, it’s much easier to add urgency. So you can have the sales page open and close at specified times or have a discount end at the same time for everyone.
Once you build out this launch sequence the first time, it’s ready to go in the future. If you have a product that you launch every quarter you can just hit play for that new batch of subscribers when you want to do another launch.
Use one of ConvertKit's landing page templates to quickly create a registration page for your webinar.
You can schedule a broadcast to go out 30 minutes before the live webinar starts.
After the webinar you can send an automated sequence to tell more about the product being pitched and get attendees to buy. Since the entire thing is timed you can just hit play and move on to your next project.
"The Gumroad integration was really simple to setup. Now anyone who buys my course gets a follow-up email series to make sure they get the most out of it.”
