Common questions about a switch to ConvertKit

How much will this cost?

Nothing! We want to get you all set up for success and part of that means treating you to a free migration. Let's get your foundation set so you can get to growing.

What will you move from my current provider?

That depends. The pieces we move from your previous platform to ConvertKit and the amount of those pieces are tied to the type of migration you choose.

At minimum, we'll move your subscribers and tags. But if you're bringing over more than 5,000 subscribers and you'd like more help, we can handle forms, emails, automations, email templates, and your integrations.

What will you move from my current provider?

Step 1. Click here and let us know how many subscribers you have and what platform you are moving from.

Step 2. Choose the migration option that best suits your needs.

Step 3. Fill out the migration submission form as detailed as you can.

How do I pick the right migration tier for me?

It's a bit of a Goldilocks and the Three Bears situation. Here are a few things to consider:

  • How quickly do you need everything done?
Do you have a launch coming up? A trip you want to completely check out on? The speed you want your migration completed can help you decide which tier you choose.
  • How much are you moving to ConvertKit?
Just a few tags and subscribers? A handful of email sequences? Years worth of forms and email templates? The amount of moving pieces you have for your migration is an addition factor.
  • How hands-on do you want to be?
Do you like taking care of things yourself? Do you feel confident in your ability to handle most of your move, but want us to take care of a few of those things? The ratio of our and your involvement can help make your decision as well.

How long will my migration take?

Again this depends on a couple things like the amount of moving pieces you have and your personal timeline. But in general, a standard migration can take between 2-3 weeks.

Will I still be able to send emails and gain new subscribers during my migration?

There's a lot going on behind the scenes that takes time and we want to make sure you don't miss a step with your people. That's why we recommend you keep using your current platform to connect with your audience during the migration.

And for that last day when we push everything live on ConvertKit, we definitely recommend not planning any large campaigns or sending.

I'm about to launch a new product, should I wait to move to ConvertKit?

Can I answer that question with a question?

How long will your campaign last? If it takes longer than a standard migrations (2-3 weeks) or you plan on changing anything about your email marketing setup based on that campaign, it may make sense to wait.

If it's short and sweet, go for it! No need to keep the people waiting for your next big thing.

Can I pay you to move my migration faster?

We have some incredible friends who can help you if you're in a time crunch.

Can you move over subscribers that are in the middle of an automation, or set of automated emails?

That's a little tricky. There's no safe way to move subscribers over to ConvertKit at a specific point in an email sequence or set or automated emails. It's best to let your subscribers finish out any automations in they're currently in before moving them over.

Can you set up integrations for me?

Yep! But only if you're bringing over more than 5,000 subscribers.

These are the integration partners we currently work with. All you'll need to do is add the details in the migrations sign-up form and we'll handle it.
